Absen Optoelectronic Co. Ltd has announced plans to acquire a 51% stake in Artixium Display Ltd for $45M US, according to the news agency LEDinside. The move is believed to strengthen the company’s position in global stadium business as well as enhance its future expansion in the sports industry.
Artixium is a European-managed LED display supplier with manufacturing facilities in Shenzhen and Wuhan. The company mainly focuses on stadium and rental signage. Despite being relatively young in the LED industry (found in 2013), Artixium has completed a few large-scale projects for sporting events, including European Championship and Kazan Arena.
Having been in the LED display industry since 2001, Absen is an integrated service provider focusing primarily on turnkey LED display solutions. The company is headquartered in Shenzhen, China, and has a worldwide presence with offices in Europe (Rüsselsheim, Germany) and the US (Orlando, Florida).
Once the acquisition is completed, Artixium will join the group of companies controlled by Absen, which includes Viss Lighting, a Shenzhen-based LED display manufacturer and solution provider.
The acquisition is aimed to support the brand’s presence in the sports industry as well as to contribute to the companies’ overall development.
