Leyard strengthens positions in EMEA region with new appointments

The company announced appointments to the senior positions following the earlier news of opening a new factory in Prešov, Slovakia.

Marco Bruines, CEO of Leyard EuropeAs such, Marco Bruines has been appointed as CEO of Leyard Europe to lead the company’s EMEA business line. Bruines served as the President of BarcoLeyard, the joint-venture between Leyard and Barco in China and has held executive roles in Europe at Barco, Inter Visual Systems, and most recently served as the managing director of SIGHT, a system integrator in the Benelux area focused on broadcasting and the corporate market.

We are pleased to bring Marco’s deep customer knowledge and industry experience in displays to our EMEA business,” - said Zach Zhang, chairman of Leyard International. “In his role, Marco will lead the sales, marketing, support, and operations in the region which will utilize his experience in segments ranging from sports and digital out-of-home media to broadcast, corporate and control room applications.

The second appointment features Leonie Rotermundt as VP of Business Development for EMEA region. Rotermundt comes to Leyard and Planar with a rich history in the graphics and displays industry, most recently as a managing director of SIGHT, a system integrator for corporate and broadcast customers in the Benelux region. Prior to that, she was the managing director of a 3D graphics and screen control firm that is now part of the NEP Group, serving clients like RTL, SBS, and TV production companies and was instrumental in bringing augmented reality to Dutch television.

Leonie Rotermundt, VP of business development for EMEA, Leyard Rotermundt is based in The Netherlands and will report to newly appointed Marco Bruines. She will assist with the primary global accounts and with the company’s initiatives to deepen relationships with content developers, consultants, architects and other specifiers.

The SIGHT company, that both Bruines and Rotermundt come from, has announced it was acquired by Leyard Europe from the first of December, according to the company's statement.
