The company received a prestigious industry award for the project at CentrO Mall in Oberhausen, Germany. The awards ceremony was held on 29th of September at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London, UK.
Completed in summer 2016, the project includes 10 curved LED screens installed in the mall’s central atrium to provide nearly 250 square meters of digital canvas. Four main curved displays each measuring 4.44m high by 7.92m wide border the upper entrance to the main thoroughfare. A nearly 110-square meter elliptical LED ribbon, which is composed of six displays installed together, graces the rotunda’s edge between the ground and the first floors. All the signage features 4-millimeter line spacing.
The project was conducted for Unibail-Rodamco Germany, a European commercial property company, in collaboration with digital art and design studio, Admemori.
“We’re thrilled and honored to accept this award for our work with Unibail-Rodamco and Admemori for the transformation of CentrO Mall,” – said Pete Egart, Daktronics vice president of sales for EMEA and Latin America. “This project illustrates the impact of immersive content created by Admemori coupled with cutting-edge LED design by Daktronics. The unique combination of curved LED displays fosters a new shopping experience within the mall’s atrium. Receiving this award shows our design engineers are always up to the challenge of bringing life to whatever ideas our customers can imagine.”
