Lakers fans to enjoy compelling HD content

TWC SportsNet, an American regional sports cable network, has upgraded its TV studio with the latest video display technologies from Leyardand Christie. The redesign was made during the offseason in time for the Lakers’ regular season tipoff on 28th of October.

together with designed a massive 7m wide by 2m high curved LED wall that follows the 3-degree arc of the studio. The 1.6mm pixel pitch display replaced a rear-projected video system that the network used previously.

Most important, we can take advantage of the extremely high resolution of this wall,” - says Peter Bothe, director, studio operations, TWC SportsNet. “We broadcast in 1080i, but we natively push high-resolution content into the video wall, and many different sources at once really enhance our production value and further allow our on-air talent and analysts to deliver better programming for our Lakers fans.

The network also installed nine narrow-bezel LCD video solutions. The displays are arranged in a 3×3 suite and serve as a backdrop for the main desk.

The content distribution to studio screens is managed by Viz Multiplay system from . The technology allows to control multiple visual solutions of different resolutions and aspect ratios from a single interface, the company said. The network also deploys Viz Libero Sports analysis and replay system to display analysis clips on the LED wall.
