Primeview LED and LCD displays along with other visual equipment provide an overall solution for the upgraded KABC-TV’s Lifestyle News Studio. The new studio debuted on the 1st of November with all works on set design, development, construction and installation performed by Broadcast Design International.
Within a planned redesign KABC wanted to create an up-to-date visualization platform that would maintain the concept of a stylish contemporary studio. The set design is described as simple and clean with a subtle feel of California impersonated in a neutral color palette of cool grays and sand tones. Much of the background is made up of RGB light boxes that can emulate “blue sky” or sunrise/sunset sky colors for better effect.
For the project, Primeview provided 2.5mm front-serviceable LED video wall. Located at the center of the studio the display serves as a seamless 6.7m wide background image for the main anchor desk.
“It was an honor to be involved in this prestigious broadcast studio project with BDI, - commented Chanan S. Averbuch, Senior VP of sales and marketing at Primeview USA. - This case study is a true testament to our cutting-edge front service LED technology and reflects ABC’s high confidence in Primeview’s 24/7 reliability and performance. On behalf of Primeview USA, I would like to congratulate both KABC LA and BDI on the successful installation of the largest broadcast LED video wall in LA and we look forward future collaborations together.”
To the right of the anchor desk, there is an LCD video wall composed of 47” Primeview displays.
Other visual technologies deployed in the studio set include:
- two seamless plasma 42” monitors;
- three vertical 80” Panasonic monitors;
- 84” Viewsonic touchscreen monitor;
- Color changing LED lightboxes with a custom printed vertical pattern;
- LED color changing accent lighting throughout the design.
