RP Visuals, Christie, and HB Communications partnered to design and install what they claim to be the largest indoor LED wall in the world. The massive video solution comprises 65 million pixels and is installed inside the Westgate Superbook at the Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino.
The display is composed of 2.5mm Christie Velvet LED tiles arrayed to form the curved video canvas of 6m high by 67m wide. The LED wall spans the whole length of the spacious sports book, which is said to be the largest in the world, and creates a stadium-like experience.
“To say it’s large is a giant understatement”, - commented Randy Pagnan, the owner principal at RP Visual Solutions. “When we were approached by HB Communications to fabricate this mounting structure for this project, we began the process of how to architecturally integrate this large, curved video wall structure into a reality. After designing came the task of how to install and deploy this configuration on-site. Partnering with HB and Christie to design this project is a huge honor. We knew that we had to exceed their expectations as well as Westgate’s to make this one-of-a-kind fan experience a huge success”.
”Westgate has raised the bar and we’re proud to work with them to make this project a reality,” – explained Kathryn Cress, vice president, global & corporate marketing, at Christie. “Christie Velvet is the ideal solution for this venue, providing a high resolution LED display, with bright, clear visuals, excellent viewing, and accurate color reproduction. When you choose Christie, we work with you every step of the way to map out a solution that will bring your vision to reality.”
Christie Velvet indoor LED tiles are available in five-pixel pitches, i.e. 1.5mm, 1.9mm, 2.5mm, 3.0mm, and 4.0mm and are designed for corporate settings, hospitality venues, and retail stores. Capable of 24/7 operation the LED tiles can be configured into any size or shape for unmatched creative freedom, the company said.
