The company has announced it will design, manufacture and install a total of 17 LED video displays for the UCF’s indoor and outdoor facilities. Supplementing the video set will be two custom audio systems installed in the football and basketball venues.
The main display at Bright House Networks Stadium is reported to measure 10.9m high by 41.4m wide. The display will feature a variable content zoning for flexible content displaying either as one large image or divided into multiple windows.
Also installed in the football stadium will be a ribbon display of 2.1m high by 60.6m wide, mounted to the seating fascia. The whole video system will feature the company’s proprietary 15HD technology.
"We are extremely proud that UCF has selected Daktronics once again to be their video and scoring system solution provider,"- said Mike Kempany, the company’s sales representative. "The existing Daktronics displays have been in place for over eight years and will be removed to make way for larger and higher resolution video displays to entertain the fans. We look forward to being a part of this next exciting phase for Knights supporters and continuing our great relationship with UCF."
Inside CFE Arena, above the basketball court will be a center-hung configuration consisting of nine displays with 6mm pixel pitch. Four main displays will each measure 4.4m high by 5.3m wide in a square formation. The corners of the configuration will be filled with wedge-shaped displays. Below the main displays will be a 10mm lower ring display of 0.9m high by 17.6m in circumference. The arena will also receive a ribbon display and five courtside scorer's tables.
The installation is scheduled for later this summer to be completed before the football season starts this autumn.
