The 1.2mm LED display was installed in the lobby of Unibail-Rodamco's corporate headquarters in Paris, according to Daktronics announcement. The project was completed in February in partnership with design team Admemori.
According to the press release, Admemori was commissioned with the task to bring an innovative digital solution that would combine architectural cutting-edge technology and emotional content strategy to impress visitors. Moreover, the state-of-the-art LED screen was to resonate with the digital experience that the customers were offered in the Unibail-Rodamco’s shopping centers.
The new display measures approximately 2.74m by 1.82m and is mounted in the company’s lobby to showcase Unibail-Rodamco’s most recent projects to the visitors entering the building.
"We're always looking for ways to better serve our customers and meet their needs for specific applications, most recently by focusing on our UHD products," - said Daktronics CEO Reece Kurtenbach. "By expanding our product offering to the 1.2-millimeter pixel pitch, we're better able to provide a solution for extremely close viewing distances thereby empowering our customers to incorporate LED displays in locations which might not have been previously feasible."
The technology is an expansion of the company’s Ultra-High Definition (UHD), also known as Narrow Pixel Pitch (NPP), 2.5mm and 1.9mm product inventory. According to Adam Gilliland, Daktronics UHD business development director, the company will install 28 UHD displays worldwide in early 2017.
