ADI's LED in Bolton's Shopping Centre

Bolton’s Market Place Shopping Centre reveals shopper engagement screen

Bolton’s premier shopping destination have taken ownership of a large 25m² indoor screen from specialists , which is designed to deliver an enhanced experience for visitors with engaging and interactive content.

While many shopping centres use large-format LED screens purely as a platform for Out of Home Media, Bolton Market Place have realised its potential for creating more immersive and enjoyable experiences for their visitors and its uses for supporting retail tenants, driving repeat visits and establishing a hub for live events and social activities.

National events and popular sports tournaments are also being broadcast live for the enjoyment of shoppers; which this week includes Wimbledon.

The screen is situated centrally on the Upper Ground Floor level to maximise visibility across the mall and has been carefully integrated into the existing structural architecture. Created using ADI’s own indoor 6mm high brightness LED product, the screen is well suited to the ambient conditions in the mall which is filled with natural light, while integrated speakers maximise impact and interactivity with the consumer audience. The screen itself is a front fix solution, making for ease of installation and maintenance by the ADI team.

Drew Burrow, ADI Business Development Manager commented, “Although we have delivered over 10 shopping centre projects, the Bolton Market Place installation is quite different in its application as a platform to engage and interact with shoppers, rather than used exclusively for third party advertising. We hope that Bolton Market Place can create a successful model that inspires other centres to incorporate large-format LED for multiple uses.”

Bolton Market Place in Greater Manchester is one of the North West’s busiest retail destinations, featuring a range of high street brands, cafes and restaurants. The listed building, which dates back to 1855, combines historic architectural features like ornate cast iron fretwork, glass roof and vaults with more contemporary elements to offer an aesthetically pleasing retail environment.
